Shirley .. Mike ... No words suffice except those spoken by our Savior. He promised 'I am with you always' and so He is with you now and in each day to come. He promised 'I go to prepare a place for you ..' and also ' .. that where I am you may be also.' We each wait for that face to face meeting with Jesus, but Jack is already basking in the Glory of His love - standing even right before the Throne of God. May His love and peace attend you each day and lift you with this sure and certain promise.

Dear Aunt Shirley and Mike, My heart is full just knowing our dear Uncle Jack is not gone forever. We will see his precious face as well as Robert's again when we make our journey to heaven! I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Jack, times at the river place, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, the Savannah Tour he took us on when we first came to visit, and card games! Often I thought he would cause the guys to loose at 'Hand & Foot' just so we would laugh and carry on!! He loved laughter! He also loved coming for our family reunions. He loved playing 'Go Fish' with Savannah teasing that 'she won again!' He played and loved each child that was around him. He was a great influence in my life. Uncle Jack will be greatly missed but the memories he gave us will last forever. As you know, he holds a very special place in our hearts! His love, kindness, generosity and compassion will forever live in all who knew him. All our love to you and Mike T & T

Dear Aunt Shirley and Mike I'm so sorry about Uncle Jack. The last time I saw him he dropped in for a quick visit and Robert was with him. My favorite memories are being on the boat and learning how to catch crabs with chicken legs on a string. Uncle Jack was my daddy's best friend and we all loved him very much he was special. He is with my mom and dad now and they are having a happy reunion. There is no saddness in Heaven, no tears, and no pain.
- Mira E White, Elizabethton, TN
Dear Shirley and Mike, Dad always had a special place in his heart for each and every one of his nieces and nephews. Mom always thought that Jack set the standard to which every man should live. He always had a serenity, a calmness and the intellect to speak on ANY subject. He had colorful stories to tell and left one begging for more. If he spoke of or looked at Shirley you could SEE the love he held for her from that twinkle in his eye. When he spoke of his sons, there was a sense of pride in what fine men they had grown to become, but still loved them as his 'little boys.' If Mom were now she'd say, 'There will never be ANOTHER Jack Lewis.' She'd be right. He will, nor could he ever be replaced. His faith in God, love of family and friends made him a very wealthy soul that will be recipricated evermore in the memories of all who loved this gentle man. He leaves a lonely void in our hearts. God truely chose an angel this time, only Jack earned his wings while on earth.
- Dori K. Nickens, Front Royal, VA

It is hard to put into words how special my Uncle Jack is. He has been a part of my life since the day I was born. My first memories are when I was just a little girl, sitting on his lap eating peanuts. And then, just a few years ago, swimming in Teri's pool with my own daughter Jasmine and of course, peanuts after the pool party. He had a very special way with kids. His gentle voice and kind words were always comforting. He was definitely a patriarch in our family. His wisdom, love and compassion will be forever revered and reflected on. I know my cousin Robert is in Heaven, holding hands with his Dad right now and it makes my heart full! Please keep Aunt Shirley and Mike in your prayers and may all who travel to Savannah be safe. Love, Joanna
- Joanna Swiger, Charlotte, TN

My dear Shirley and Mike, It still just doesn't seem real, and I know it takes time to comprehend what has happened, and the days ahead will be difficult ones for you. Remember the love he has given and the joys you have had. We have all been very blessed to know Jack, and he has meant so very much to us. He has been a very special uncle for me, and I treasure the times we have visited together and will remember those times with love and affection. I know he loved both you you so very much, and is now looking down with a smile and peace in his heart. We're here for you, and please let us help in any way we can. Much love, Linda and family

Aunt Shirley and Mike, I am so very sorry for our loss of Uncle Jack. He was always my friend, that was the most easy going person I had ever known. I have learned from him and I will try to be like him, here forward, just like my favorite grandfather, Oscar Sours! I cannot attend the funeral, but I will be at the funeral in spirit. I love you both from the deepest part of my heart.
